I'm a Canadian contemporary artist who loves God and His creation.

I believe life on earth is special and precious because it's a journey of preparation and learning. It can lead to eternal happiness in Heaven with our Creator. I feel that as we grow on this journey, it's our responsibility to search for truth, to search for God, to get to know Him, and to build the deepest relationship possible with our Creator. This is our purpose and goal in life, I believe.

After all, who are we? We are children of God and we are going to spend eternity with Him.

I believe my work — art — is also a journey — a journey of creation and the search for truth. When we view art, we are looking at creation, just as we see creation in nature. Painting is one of my ways of giving glory and thanks to God and of bringing people closer to Him. This is why my work — art — is so special and precious.

For years, I had been searching for something new, for my own unique style. I'm thrilled that I have indeed discovered a new way of expression and communication, which I refer to as "Trinitism." I use "Trinitism" to define and give meaning to my paintings and my distinctive voice. (Read more about "Trinitism" in the "Info" navigation menu.)

I'm headed in an exciting direction. Join me on my journey.

Helder R. Faria was born in Montréal, Canada, and lived with his maternal grandparents and relatives in a rural town in northern Portugal where he was surrounded by the beauty of the great outdoors — farms, forests, and hills. His love of nature and God grew to become his primary sources of artistic inspiration. At the age of ten Helder returned to Canada and was introduced to a new environment and four wonderful seasons. He studied Graphic Design at George Brown College in Toronto and worked in various fields within the industry. He also worked in animation, as a Computer Colour Stylist, for Nelvana Limited. Later, Helder started his own illustration and fine art business: The Spirit of Helder. While the subject matter of his "fine art" paintings has varied, he now places more emphasis on themes of personal growth, Christianity, and nature. Helder also loves photography and travel. He shares a studio with a spirited French canary in Toronto, Canada.

“I am trying to free people and fill a profound need in today's dark, frantic world: a need for mankind to enjoy beauty and tranquility; a need to acquire understanding and Knowledge; and most importantly, a need for spiritual growth. I do this by sharing my Spirit and inspiration.” —Helder R. Faria
