PASSION

Passion is the story of Jesus Christ's Passion — His love for all humanity. He is the light of the world, represented here by the lit candle. Its purple colour symbolizes Jesus' divinity and royalty. The melting red wax expresses His sorrowful passion. It depicts Christ's suffering and the blood He shed in order to save humanity from the slavery of sin and evil. The candle also shows the Son of God's wound which was pierced into His body after He was crucified and died. The red drop symbolizes the blood and the white drop represents the water which gushed forth from the wound. Above the yellow flame is a red one. It depicts the Holy Spirit who descended from Heaven upon Jesus when our Saviour was baptized by John the Baptist. Finally, the green glow reveals the eternal life and salvation which the Light of the World brings to those who believe and accept Him as their God and Saviour.
